AI Systems Build Lead

Role Description The AI Systems Build Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Reston, VA. This role is responsible for leading the design, build, integration, and deployment of AI-driven systems, including data pipelines, model training workflows, and production environments. The AI Systems Build Lead collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical architectures, oversee implementation, and ensure system reliability and performance.

Daily responsibilities include coordinating technical tasks, monitoring system health, resolving build and deployment issues, documenting configurations and processes, and providing guidance to technical support staff. The role also involves continuous improvement of AI infrastructure, evaluation of emerging tools and technologies, and adherence to security and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills to assess system performance, diagnose issues, and interpret complex data and technical requirements.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and technical support for AI systems, build pipelines, and production environments.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, documenting processes, and presenting findings.
• Solid foundation in information technology, including system architecture, networks, security, and cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Experience leading build or implementation efforts for AI, data, or software systems in an enterprise or government environment.
• Familiarity with MLOps or Dev Ops practices, version control, CI/CD pipelines, and environment configuration management.
• Ability to work on-site in Reston, VA, in a structured, team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
