We are working with a leading international industrial machinery manufacturer looking to appoint a Field Service Technician to support its expanding customer base across the United States.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically strong technician to join an established global organisation specialising in advanced industrial packaging machinery.

Initially, you will provide dedicated technical support to a major food manufacturing customers in Mountain Time Zones supporting newly installed machinery and ensuring maximum production uptime.

Over time, the position will develop into a broader US field service role, providing exposure to a variety of customers, machinery and industrial environments across multiple states.

You will benefit from hands-on training, ongoing technical development and the opportunity to work alongside experienced service engineers.

As a Field Service Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out mechanical maintenance, servicing and repairs on industrial packaging machinery.
• Diagnosing mechanical faults and responding to customer breakdowns.
• Providing responsive technical support to minimise production downtime.
• Undertaking basic electrical fault-finding, including wiring, sensors and electrical cabinets.
• Supporting machinery installations, commissioning and preventative maintenance.
• Developing strong working relationships with customers through professional and reliable service.
• Working alongside experienced engineers to develop your knowledge of specialist packaging equipment.
• Travelling to customer sites throughout the United States.
• Potentially supporting international customers in Mexico and Central America.
• Attending overseas technical training at manufacturing facilities in Germany and Italy.

We are particularly interested in mechanically minded technicians with experience working on industrial machinery, manufacturing equipment or production lines.

• Strong mechanical engineering or mechanical maintenance background.
• Experience fault-finding and repairing industrial machinery.
• Good practical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Basic electrical knowledge, including confidence investigating wiring faults, sensors and electrical components.
• Ability to work independently and manage customer-facing service assignments.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively throughout the US.
• Valid passport and ability to undertake international travel.
• Food processing, food manufacturing or FMCG environments.
• Industrial packaging machinery, particularly Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) or Fill Seal equipment.
• Previous field service engineering experience.
• Experience working with electrical cabinets, sensors and machine wiring.

Importantly, you do not need to be an automation specialist or experienced programmer. The priority is a strong mechanical technician with some electrical troubleshooting ability. Full product-specific training will be provided.
