Our work consists mainly of commercial type projects; EV, Fire Alarm and Lighting retrofits, sales centers for our large construction partners and commercial T.I. projects. The Position
We are looking for a hardworking and passionate individual who wants to be a part of the Nightingale Family. As an PM on the Service team, you will be responsible for the preparation of detailed estimates for various commercial construction projects, as well as residential building retrofit work in common areas, such as parkade EV and lighting outfits and full building fire alarm upgrades.
You will be expected to price sales centers and commercial T.I. projects for our construction partners, as well as open tenders for available work.
Responsibilities
Produce all costs for tender submission – material, labour, equipment, etc. to develop accurate quotations.Review and understand tender specifications and drawings and follow through with estimating process to develop competitive bidsManage and evaluate Estimating process / procedure compliance and create consistency.Manage and incorporate scope changesEngage suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing to incorporate into estimateDevelop innovative ideas during the management process to maximize cost savings and increase our competitivity.Communicate with clients to gather information, clarify specification, wording, etc.Participate in closing the bid, startup and wrap up meetings and debriefs following the project completionCommunicating with the installation team on a regular basis to assist with cost control and project statusBe able to lead, organize, coach a crew of workers to install equipment as per electrical drawingsProviding timely updates on progress and forecasting trends to the General ManagerHelp manage a team of Service Technicians and Apprentices to meet and complete project objectivesPreparation of billing material and information for project billing each month to send to accounting teamProcessing and pricing of Change Orders for ongoing projectsWorking with site team to make accurate schedules and reach project goal deadlinesQualifications
Electrical Red Seal or FSR CertificateDiploma in Project / Construction Management an asset2 or more years experience as a Project Manager/Estimator for electrical projectsExperience in construction estimatingExcellent knowledge of industry products, practices, and standardsKnowledge of engineering software and engineering skills an assetExperience with ACCUBID estimating software is an assetExperience in working with Microsoft Office applications:
