Position SummaryReporting to the Coordinator of Theatre Technical and Facility Operations, the Stagehand - Lighting Technician will plan the safe and efficient installation of all lighting elements for productions, ensuring safety, longevity, and consistency while respecting the Director and Designer’s vision.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- High School Diploma
- Post-secondary certification in a related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in theatrical lighting programming and installation
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position on large-scale productions
- Experience in stage management
- Hands-on experience with various lighting consoles
- Experience operating scissor lifts and knowledge of safety procedures
- Ability to program and operate ETC Congo or Grand MA lighting consoles
- Knowledge of lighting and effects equipment, wiring, and maintenance routines
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and creative skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team under pressure
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Calendar, and internet research
- Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Good judgment and decision-making skills
