As a Parts Cleaner
, you will perform chemical and mechanical cleaning of parts and other metal products by hand, solvent bath or other processes to remove unwanted materials.
What you’ll do:
Learn and operate various cleaning methods, including hand cleaning with industrial solvents, chemical cleaning, grit blasting, and mechanical cleaning processes.Prepare and masks surfaces prior to cleaningPrepare parts for non-destructive testingClean and maintain cleaning tanks and equipment, monitors chemicals through titration checksParticipate in continuous improvement of processesCross trains in other complementary skills to support production requirementsObserve all applicable safety requirementsPosition Requirements:
High School diploma or GEDAbility to stand for prolonged periods.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 75% of the average workdayAbility to read and understand manuals, work instructions and any other technical instructions written in EnglishAbility to use a computer and required software.Desired Characteristics:
Thorough knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.Thorough knowledge of titrating chemicals.Working knowledge of material safety data sheets and the handling of hazardous materials/chemicals.Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, MSDS labels and original equipment manufacturer manuals for cleaning and related processesWorking knowledge of production management computer systems.Benefits that make life better:
