Assistant Kitchen Department Head Trainee

Reporting to the Kitchen Department Head, the Kitchen Assistant Department Head provides hands-on support to ensure the smooth daily operation and management of the kitchen department, maintaining good conditions.

Founded in 1993, T&T Supermarket Inc. is Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 36 stores across BC, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec. The company is expanding, with new stores planned in the coming years.

• Greet customers with friendly service, a smile, and enthusiasm.
• Support the Department Head in managing department performance, staff supervision, coaching, and fostering teamwork.
• Assist with product ordering, pricing, and inventory control.
• Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, equipment maintenance, and workplace safety.
• Oversee product quality, food safety, and FIFO practices.
• Maintain accurate product labeling and pricing, and ensure proper packaging and display of food items like BBQ, Hot Foods, Dim Sum, Sushi.
• Lead by example in performing kitchen duties.
• Enhance customer satisfaction through attentive service and handle complaints appropriately.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating reliability and accountability.
• Possess basic knowledge of profit and loss control, data interpretation, and market trends.
• Maintain a positive, proactive, and self-motivated attitude.
• Have good attendance and adhere to company policies.
