Security Intervention Officer – De-Escalation & Arrests

As an Undercover Security Guard with Securiguard, you'll be more than just a security presence—you'll be a frontline ambassador of safety and trust in the retail environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are observant, proactive, and committed to protecting people, property, and reputations. Working as part of a collaborative team, you'll use investigative techniques, real‑time surveillance, and strong customer service to help reduce theft and loss, while promoting a welcoming and secure environment for staff and guests.

• Monitoring for suspicious behavior through static surveillance to prevent theft and other security risks.
• Apprehending and safely detaining shoplifters when necessary, including making arrests where required, in accordance with legal and company protocols.
• Write professional security reports with a strong command of the English language.
• Familiarity with the use of CCTV systems & Report Documentation.
• Maintaining a visible security presence across multiple store locations, depending on operational needs.
• Collaborating with fellow officers and store staff, while also being comfortable working independently.
• Managing difficult or high‑stress situations with professionalism and a calm, steady approach.
• Standing and remaining attentive during shifts of up to 8 hours.

• Valid BC Security Worker License.
• Advanced Security Training (AST) preferred.
• Minimum 2 years security work experience in a retail and mall environment, preferably focusing on identifying and apprehending shoplifters.
• Minimum of 1 year of Undercover Loss Prevention experience is an asset.
• Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA Level
  1) or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the Trespass to Property Act.
• Willingness to work irregular hours and travel as needed.

Salary: $23.00 per hour
