Senior Material Handling Engineer Mining

Lead bulk material handling engineering in Sudbury with WSP, applying mechanical design expertise to mining and mineral processing projects. Guide systems from studies through commissioning.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead equipment design, technical evaluation, and multidisciplinary integration for mining projects. Your work spans conveyors, feeders, crushers, bins, hoppers, chutes, stackers, reclaimers, and related equipment. You will support practical solutions across project stages.

• Lead material handling system design and technical evaluations
• Develop calculations, specifications, datasheets, layouts, and reports
• Coordinate interfaces across multidisciplinary and vendor teams
• Review shop drawings, inspections, acceptance, and constructability
• Support commissioning, troubleshooting, mentoring, proposals, and client relationships

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Ontario Professional Engineer registration or eligibility
• Strong bulk material handling or heavy industrial experience
• Experience across design, procurement, construction, and commissioning
• Knowledge of conveyors, sizing, vendor packages, and plant integration
