Job Description
Our client designs and manufactures turnkey electrical control systems and machinery for all types of applications within the industrial and commercial sectors globally. They are currently seeking a Shop Manager in the GTA that can bring in value and be a part of our diverse growing team. You will be working within a team throughout the lifecycle of small- and large-scale electrical control systems.
In this position your work will be performed both in the shop and at customer sites, while applying your knowledge and experience to design, implement, test, deliver, integrate, commission, optimize and support custom control systems in new and existing integrated solutions.

Job Summary
Assemble control panels by laying out components, mounting, and wiring them according to the electrical schematicsCutting out enclosure plug locations and wiring themPrepare operator consoles by knocking out pilot device holes, mounting pilot devices and wiring them. Installing din rail, terminals and other components necessaryPrepare junction boxes by installing din rail, terminals & pilot devices if necessaryPosition, install and wire junction boxes, operator consoles & enclosuresWire & install switches, motors, servos and other electrical sensors or components mounted on the equipment.Prepare, install and wire all conduits connecting all sections of the equipment togetherStart-up Troubleshooting and basic electrical service callsSystem commissioning and de-commissioning assistance at customer siteCo-responsible responsible for the technical aspects of projects and project management responsibilities as requiredTroubleshooting electrical systemsSupervise and provide directions to junior staff membersEnvironment:

Recognize and diagnose faults on electrical equipment or systems, which may involve complex interlocking, interrelated circuits, integrated systems and complex sequencingRead/write electrical and electronic schematics/diagrams, basic hydraulic and pneumatic diagramsPrepare functional descriptions of process controls and sequence of operationsIntegration of specialized hardware and software into manufacturing systems to enhance automation and control with an emphasis on efficiencyCommission and troubleshoot automation applicationsAssist customers and co-workers with electrical issues; aid with specifications for purchase of electrical componentsProvide electrical machine commissioning and/or technical support both on and off-siteField installation work requires travel to customer's facilitiesRequirements
Requirements:
Able to read wiring diagrams, electrical schematicsHands-on experience applying electronicsThe ability to work well with minimal supervision and take initiativePerform basic wiring work and general installations, identify causes of problems while developing methods of correctionKnowledge of and ability to troubleshoot machine safety circuits and applicationsAbility to lift up to lbsWork overtime and weekends as requiredExcellent troubleshooting skillsStrong communication, problem solving, and leadership skillsAbility to work in a team environmentHold a valid Canadian driver's license with a good driving recordIndependent on-site commissioning and startup experienceExposure to various automation processes (automotive, food and beverage, agricultural, mining, pharmaceutical, etc.)If you have the skill set and experience that we are looking for, please apply by emailing your resume to:
