This ARRS-funded salaried GP role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. The GP will manage a varied clinical caseload, contribute to continuity of care, and work closely with ARRS professionals such as clinical pharmacists & physicians assistants to ensure safe, efficient, and holistic patient management.

Main duties of the jobThe ARRS salaried GP (funded through the additional roles reimbursement scheme) will carry out core GP work including clinical patient care, continuity and coordination of care, preventive and population health work, clinical administration, quality and safety, team working and learning.
About usThe Gade & Chorleywood Health Centres, with around 20,000 patients, consists of 2 recently merged surgeries which are based across 3 sites in Rickmansworth & Chorleywood. There are 6 partners, 8 salaried GP's and several nurses, HCA's, Phlebotomists & Clinical Pharmacists plus a Physician Assistant. We also have around 32 administrative and reception staff and as a training practice we regularly have GP's in training working with us.
Jobdescription Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
Effective management of long-term conditions
Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests, insurance plus other administrative reports and other associated administrative tasks
On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF
Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training
Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
Prepare and complete the revalidation process
Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
Review and always adhere to practice protocols and policies
Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvement
A requirement to undertake home visits.
Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit lead
Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care
Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach i.e., root cause analysis (RCA)
Person Specification Qualifications Essential- MUST BE WITHIN 2 YEARS OF OBTAINING THE CCT
- MRCGP
- Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
- General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
- Full GMC registration
- National Performers List registration
- Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
- Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
- Experience of working in a primary care environment
- Experience of continued professional development
- Experience of QOF and clinical audit
- General understanding of the GMS contract
- Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Strong IT skills
- Clear, polite telephone manner
- Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
- EMIS user skills
- Effective time management (planning and organising)
