Senior Accountant

AON is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Riyadh office. The ideal candidate will oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with local regulations, and provide expert support for accounting processes in line with Saudi Arabian standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Saudi GAAP and IFRS.
• Ensure compliance with Zakat, VAT, and other local tax regulations.
• Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all financial transactions.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
• Collaborate with other departments to support business objectives.
• Communicate effectively in ESL professional level English for all internal and external reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is a must.
• Professional certification (achieved or in progress) is a must. (ACCA, CMA, CPA, SOCPA).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial accounting, controllership roles, and/or with Big Four companies (external audit).
• Minimum 2 years in a senior accounting role, preferably in Saudi Arabia.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Fluency in ESL professional English is mandatory.
