Job Purpose
Tooverseetheexecutionofearthworksactivitiesforroadconstructionprojects,ensuringalignmentwithdesignspecifications,safety standards,andprojecttimelines.
Workingunderthedirectionofthe Construction Manager –Earthworks,thisroledrivesoperationalefficiency,managessiteperformance,andprovidestechnicalguidancetoensurehigh-qualityprojectdelivery.
- Adheretoorganizationalpoliciesandprocedurestoensurecomplianceandmaintainaproductiveworkenvironment.
- Implementandupholdsafetyandsecurityprotocolstoprotectthewell-beingofallemployeesandcompanyassets.
- Planandoverseeallearthworksactivities,includingexcavation,cut-and-fill,grading,compaction,embankmentconstruction,andsubgradepreparation.
- Reviewprojectdrawings,specifications,andmethodstatementstoensureaccurateandefficientexecution.
- Developworkprogramsandschedulesinalignmentwiththe Construction Manager –Earthworks.
- Guideandsupport Earthwork Site Engineersinexecutingdailyactivitiestoensurealignmentwithprojectrequirements .
- Assigntasks,monitor performance,andprovidetechnicaldirectionstoensureworkqualityandproductivity.
- Coordinatecloselywithengineers,surveyors,contractors,andsitestafftomaintaineffectivecommunicationandoperationalflow.
- Managedeploymentofmanpower,machinery,andmaterialsforassignedworks.
- Trackequipmentutilization,productivity,and downtime,andreportissuestothe
Construction
Manager. - Recommendresourceadjustmentsasneededtomaintainefficiencyandmeetprojecttimelines.
- Monitordailyandweeklyprogressofearthworksactivitiesagainstprojectschedules.
- Prepareprogressreports,worklogs,andresourceutilizationsummariesforsubmissiontothe
Construction
Manager–Earthworks. - Identifyandreportrisks,delays,ordeviationsfromprojectspecificationstoensuretimelycorrectiveactions.
- Ensurecompliancewithdesignspecifications,technical standards,andqualitybenchmarksforallearthworks.
- Overseefieldtesting(e.g.,compaction,soilsuitability,moisturecontent) andaddressanydeficienciespromptlytoupholdqualityandsafetystandards.
- Performadditionaldutiesasneededtosupporttheteamandoverallbusinessobjectives.
- Bachelor’sDegree Civil Engineering
- 6-7yearsofexperienceinroadconstructionandlarge-scaleearthworks,withatleast2–4yearsinaseniorengineeringrole
