The Senior Landscape Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, and implementing landscape projects that enhance the aesthetic and ecological value of outdoor spaces. This role emphasizes sustainable practices, project management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to create innovative landscape solutions. The Senior Landscape Engineer ensures that projects meet client expectations while adhering to regulatory standards and the best environmental practices.
Responsibilities- Landscape Design – Utilize CAD and other design software to create detailed project drawings and specifications.
- Project Management – Oversee landscape projects from conception through completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Sustainability and Compliance – Incorporate sustainable practices into landscape designs, focusing on biodiversity and resource conservation, and ensure compliance with local regulations, zoning laws, and environmental standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Collaborate with clients, architects, and urban planners to understand project requirements and present design concepts, and facilitate stakeholder meetings to gather input and provide updates on project progress.
- Research and Development – Stay current on industry trends, materials, and technologies related to landscape engineering, and conduct research to innovate and improve landscape design practices.
- Industry / Domain:
Environmental Engineering. - Necessary Knowledge and Experience – Minimum of 10+ years of experience in landscape design or engineering, with a proven track record of successfully completing landscape projects.
- Education and Certification Minimum Requirements – Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture, Environmental Science, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., Landscape Architect Registration) is preferred.
- Job Specific and Technical Skills – Proficiency in landscape design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Sketch Up, GIS); strong knowledge of horticulture, soil science, and landscape ecology; excellent project management and organizational skills; strong verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement; ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
