Job DescriptionAs a Senior Urban Planner within the Development, Planning and Urban Design team, you will play a key role in the delivery of strategic spatial planning projects, contributing to technical development and high-quality output production. You will support project leadership by managing defined work streams, developing technical outputs, presentation and report materials.
Responsibilities- Support the technical preparation of planning inputs for large-scale strategic spatial plans, strategies, planning policies, frameworks, technical reports, land use analysis, and regulatory submissions, ensuring alignment with client objectives, regulatory frameworks, and international best practicesli>
- Support the spatial planning lead in cross disciplinary coordination to ensure comprehensive and cohesive project outcomes.
- Assist in consultations and workshops with clients, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
- Conduct research, data collection, and spatial analysis using a range of techniques and software to inform baseline analysis, optioneering and spatial planning outcomes in projects.
- Prepare high-quality written and graphic materials for reports, presentations, and client submissions.
- Be self-responsible for, and contribute to wider technical excellence and quality deliverables.
- Engage in continuous learning and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the team.
- Assist in preparing proposals and technical submissions for new projects.
- Degree or post graduate qualification in urban planning, or related field and preferably with a professional affiliation (or eligible for membership)
- Candidates will have minimum 6 years post qualification experience
- Demonstrable project experience in working on and delivering strategic spatial planning projects
- Experience in working within a multidisciplinary team – including external subconsultants – is essential.
- Will be required to travel within the Middle East region to projects in a variety of geographical locations, including Saudi Arabia.
