How You’ll Make an Impact
Work as a Telecom engineer in PDH, SDH, Ethernet, MPLS-TP technologies, collaborating with the tendering team to understand client specifications and propose technical solutions that meet requirements.
Demonstrate proficiency in handling Telecom SDH Multiplexer, PDH Multiplexer, Wireless Router/Bridges, Switches, Routers, PABX Systems, and Network Management Products.
Translate project requirements and specifications into detailed telecommunication system designs, including network architecture, equipment selection, cabling schemes, and power requirements.
Conduct technical analysis and simulations to optimize system performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Implement design changes and produce as-built project documentation.
Support continuous improvement of project processes and system design through lessons learned feedback and create work plans and cost estimates for assigned responsibilities and proactively manage tasks to deliver on time, on quality, and at targeted cost.
Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, block diagrams, equipment lists, bills of materials (BOMs), and test plans.
Collaborate closely with project managers, other engineering disciplines (e.g., electrical, civil), and external vendors to integrate telecommunication solutions seamlessly into broader project scopes.
Participate in site surveys and technical discussions to gather critical information and address design challenges and provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and testing phases of telecommunication systems and ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and Hitachi Energy's internal policies and procedures.
Identify and mitigate potential technical risks, propose innovative solutions, and stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in the telecommunications industry.
You will be ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Living Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your actions while caring for colleagues and the business.
Your BackgroundBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in telecommunication system design, preferably within the energy or infrastructure sector.
Proven experience with various telecommunication technologies, including fiber optics and radio communication (microwave, LTE), IP networks, and SCADA communication protocols.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Micro Station) and other design tools and strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, MPLS, VLANs) and routing/switching concepts.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEEE, TIA/EIA, IEC) and excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced project environment and strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and PMP certification or a relevant engineering license is a plus.
Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
