Principal Pre-commissioning Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer – Pre-Commissioning to support the successful delivery of large industrial projects. The role focuses on managing construction and pre-commissioning activities, ensuring quality, safety, and timely execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all pre-commissioning activities from system preparation to mechanical completion.
• Oversee site operations, ensuring compliance with design standards, safety protocols, and project plans.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and technical work plans.
• Support construction, commissioning, testing, and inspections.
• Identify manpower, tools, and resource needs for pre-commissioning.
• Manage contractors, resolve site issues, and drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams for smooth project transitions.
• Contribute to planning, progress reporting, and technical evaluations.
• Apply digital tools for project management, turnover, and handover processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical preferred);
  Master’s is an advantage.
• 12–18 years’ experience in large industrial projects, with strong pre-commissioning leadership.
• Background in mining, metals, oil & gas, or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of contract management, claims, and EPC/FIDIC environments.
• Leadership in multicultural environments.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.
• Expertise in project management tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, BIM, AutoCAD).
• PMP/PRINCE2 preferred.
• Solid understanding of HSE standards (OSHA, NEBOSH).
• Experience with risk management, change management, and contractor negotiations.
