Commissioning Engineer – Mechanical (Short Term – 6 months)
Join WSP in the Middle East as a Commissioning Engineer – Mechanical (Short Term – 6 months) for a 6‑month contract.
Job DescriptionWSP is seeking an experienced Independent Commissioning Agent (ICA) to join its commissioning team. The ICA will manage the commissioning activities across building construction and infrastructure projects through design, construction, and warranty phases. The ICA will serve as the lead commissioning authority, coordinating tasks and responsibilities as outlined in CIBSE Commissioning Manuals and ASHRAE Commissioning Guidelines.
Responsibilities- Lead commissioning activities and provide technical expertise by reviewing contractor plans, procedures, and logic sequences.
- Proactively anticipate issues based on testing & commissioning experience and collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a complex environment.
- Witness critical testing hold points and maintain a progress dashboard for testing stages required for Green Building Certification systems such as LEED, Estidama, Mostadam, GSAS, etc.
- Liaise and coordinate with numerous Design & Build packages, including civil and MEP facilities, ensuring continuous integration of all project interfaces.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 13–15 years of experience as an Independent Commissioning Agent (ICA) or Commissioning Authority (CxA) on multiple LEED or other Green Building projects.
- Certification from ASHRAE (BCxP) / AABC / ACG / AEE / NEBB.
- Experience across all project stages:
Concept Design, Schematic Design, Detailed Design, Tender, Construction, Close‑out, Warranty, and Operation. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, delegating tasks effectively with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, verbally and written, with staff, clients, and contractors across disciplines.
