The purpose of the Welding Inspector (PMC) is to act as the technical authority and frontline quality enforcer for welding works under the TSE pipelines and reservoir facilities contract. By ensuring compliance with approved procedures, codes, and safety standards, this role safeguards the structural integrity, operational reliability, and long‑term performance of welded assets, directly supporting the safe and successful delivery of the project.
1.Welding Supervision & Monitoring
- Oversee daily welding operations for pipelines, reservoirs, valve chambers, and associated mechanical structures.
- Verify joint preparation, fit‑up, alignment, and pre‑weld conditions in accordance with approved drawings and procedures.
- Monitor consumables control, ensuring electrodes, filler materials, and shielding gases are used within specified limits.
- Confirm welders are qualified in line with approved WPS, PQR, and WPQ documentation.
- Ensure welding works comply with RCRC/NWC/EXPRO standards, Saudi regulations, and international codes (ASME, API, AWS, ISO).
- Witness and review non‑destructive testing (NDT), including radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and dye penetrant testing.
- Validate repair welds and ensure compliance with approved repair procedures.
- Enforce HSE protocols during welding and hot works, including fire protection, confined space safety, and PPE compliance.
- Identify and report unsafe welding practices, ensuring corrective actions are implemented immediately.
- Support HSE teams in hot‑work permit approvals, gas monitoring, and Firewatch compliance.
- Monitor EPC contractor and subcontractor welding performance, ensuring works are executed to approved standards.
- Witness welder performance qualification tests and procedure qualification records.
- Review contractor ITPs, method statements, and welding logs for accuracy and compliance.
- Work closely with Mechanical, Civil, I&C, QA/QC, and HSE Inspectors to ensure welding works are properly sequenced and integrated into construction.
- Participate in daily coordination meetings to address welding issues, NCRs, and corrective actions.
- Provide technical input during site discussions and interface resolution workshops.
- Maintain daily welding inspection logs, weld maps, and traceability records.
- Review and validate NDT reports, welder qualification records, and consumable certificates.
- Raise NCRs, site observations, and track closure of corrective actions.
- Contribute to weekly and monthly PMC progress reports with welding quality updates.
- Verify completion of welding and ensure systems are ready for hydrostatic/pneumatic testing.
- Support commissioning teams by validating welding documentation, NDT results, and repair records.
- Ensure all welding dossiers, as‑built drawings, and final inspection reports are complete for client handover.

By ensuring that welding works are performed safely, correctly, and in compliance with standards, the role guarantees the structural integrity and reliability of project assets, supporting smooth commissioning and long‑term operational success.
Qualifications & Experience- Academic
:- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
- Additional technical training in welding inspection, metallurgy, or materials testing is an advantage.
