- Carry out on-site installation, service maintenance, alignment, cleaning, repair, and modification of large high‑voltage generators, motors, and synchronous condensers.
- Strip down and rebuild large generators and related equipment; fault find and rectify as necessary, overhauling and cleaning.
- Install and commission large turbo‑driven generators, synchronous condensers, and motors.
- Perform mechanical alignment checks, basic electrical tests, and adjustments to machines and complex shaft systems using mechanical, optical, and laser‑based systems.
- Interpret specifications and technical requirements; prepare method statements and detailed concise reports for submission to customers.
- Attend technical meetings on site and at customers’ premises.
- Undergo training if necessary to assist winding specialists in in‑situ winding repairs/rewinds.
- Conduct an on‑site risk assessment on every assignment and record details on the provided form.
- Perform additional duties as reasonably required by the company.
- Accredited Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification or relevant experience, minimum qualification through a recognized apprenticeship in fitting and assembly operations on large high‑voltage rotating electrical machines.
- 5+ years of mechanical experience working on motors and generators.
- Knowledge of health, safety and environment concepts, practices and procedures.
- Self‑reliant, resourceful, problem‑solver with well‑developed commercial awareness.
- Effective communicator, fluent in spoken and written English.
- Flexible to travel and undertake extensive overseas and offshore work, approximately 29 weeks per annum.
- Experience dealing with external stakeholders on site and operating remotely on own initiative.
