Job Description – Safety Officer
Location: Saudi Arabia
Role OverviewThe Safety Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards across industrial, construction, utility, and facilities-based operations. The role requires strong expertise in hazard identification, risk assessment, PTW compliance, and incident investigation. The Safety Officer ensures adherence to local and international safety regulations while supporting safe execution of daily operations. Experience working with major Saudi clients or safety operations involving robotics, tank inspections, or confined spaces will be an added advantage.
Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor workplace operations to ensure compliance with HSE regulations, company policies, and client standards.
Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), prepare Risk Assessments (RA), and implement effective control measures.
Manage the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system, ensuring proper documentation, validation, and safety compliance.
Perform regular site inspections, audits, and safety walkthroughs to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare detailed reports, and drive root-cause analysis and corrective measures.
Deliver toolbox talks, safety training, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
Support emergency response planning, confined-space entry operations, and high-risk activity supervision.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure safe working methods are followed.
Maintain accurate safety records, inspection logs, and compliance documentation.
Ensure safe operations during tank inspections, water plant activities, and related facility operations, where applicable.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Safety, Environmental Science, or related technical field (preferred)
OR Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent (acceptable). - Minimum 3–5 years of experience in occupational health & safety.
- Strong experience in industrial, construction, facilities, or utility environments.
- Proficiency in preparing JHA, RA, PTW compliance documents, and safety incident reports.
- Understanding of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices in Saudi Arabia.
- Strong analytical and observation skills with the ability to identify hazards proactively.
- Excellent communication skills to conduct safety training and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage emergency response procedures and confined-space safety protocols.
- Competence in safety monitoring for high-risk activities, including lifting operations, hot work, and enclosed space work.
