Mechanical Engineer – ENGIE Middle East

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Department: Maintenance

Assist in managing all mechanical maintenance activities associated with defect and planned maintenance programmes, leveraging a site-based engineering team, technicians, and external contract agencies.

• Manage day-to-day plant mechanical maintenance activities according to utility best practices and contract requirements.
• Develop short‑ and long‑term mechanical maintenance strategy and build a capable engineering, planning, and maintenance team.
• Coordinate mechanical maintenance activities with finance, accounting, HSE, and operations departments.
• Define, manage, and monitor the mechanical maintenance budget in line with the overall company budget.
• Ensure plant availability, reliability, efficiency, generation and cost targets are met safely and within environmental, legal and contractual requirements.
• Establish appropriate procedures and computerized mechanical maintenance management processes.
• Respect the O&M agreement with the Owner and the Contractual Services Agreement with Suez Services Saudi.

• Accredited Mechanical Engineering degree.
• At least 10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance of a large combined‑cycle power plant.
• At least 3 years as a Mechanical Engineer in such a plant.
• Proven people‑management and team‑leadership skills.
• Strong knowledge of safety systems, CMMS, engineering concepts, and procurement procedures.
• Budget control and reporting experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English;
  Arabic an advantage.
