Join CAE Middle East as a Senior Flight Simulator Engineer and help establish the technical operations supporting Riyadh Air’s new training centre in Saudi Arabia.
This role offers exposure to a wide range of modern simulators, systems, and equipment, providing opportunities for learning, development, and progression within the technical function.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupport the Flight Simulator Training Devices and Other Training Devices:
Attend maintenance calls, device setup, conversions, demos, assist during Simulator Flight Tests, support snag clearance activities, etc… Independently perform the Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PMTs), Daily Readiness (DR), Recurrent QTG runs, Aircraft Database (ADB) updates, & IOS Lesson Plan (LP) updates on the training devices & associated systems. Ensure that all tasks are carried out according to the standards. Ensure that deficiencies associated with these tasks are followed up, actioned, and closed in a timely manner.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve training device issues, including AOGs and NAA raised issues. Perform hardware refurbishment, and modifications. Identify recurring issues and work to pursue permanent solutions. Monitor Sim Hub/Simissues for updates & use the Computerized Maintenance Management System to record, track, review, update, & monitor deficiencies and other maintenance activities. Produce reports for TCOPS Management to monitor performance and identify trends.
May be assigned to the role of Shift Lead, Team Lead, Device Caretaker or Task Caretaker. Manage all aspects of the assigned role autonomously. Create, improve, or update procedures & guidelines for new, routine, and non-routine tasks. Work with the FSTD Technical Specialists on issues that require testing, troubleshooting. Take on special projects based on the needs of the Training Center Operation.
Mentor & provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) to more junior colleagues. Provide support for work on more complex tasks & during corrective maintenance tasks. Pursue knowledge and skills to strive to become a technical expert in one or more FSTD system. (i.e. Visual, Motion, Flt Controls, QTGs, etc…) Comply with local & global CAE Environmental Health & Safety standards, instructions, and safe working procedures.
Exercise duty of care for own H&S, and that of others who may be affected by his/her work. Prioritize, plan, & coordinate most maintenance tasks, regularly review and update all issues for planning purposes, generate reports for review during technical meetings, ensure that the training devices are ready for NAA recurrent evaluations, make sure that all maintenance records are up-to-date.
Ensure that all training devices achieve the CAE, Departmental, and Service Level Agreement KPIs. Ensure that all projects and DRs are worked on, addressed, and brought to closure in a timely manner. Make sure that authority and customer business critical issues are cleared within specified targets. Participate in weekly technical meetings, NAA evaluations, internal/external audits, & SLA review meetings with CAE upper management and/or the customer.
Act as Deputy Manager or Group Leader Technical Operations in his/her absence. Work with CAE Customer Service to follow-up on business-critical issues. Assist and actively participate in the yearly performance evaluation of the team and individuals. Assist the Manager or Group Leader Technical Operations in the generation of the employee development plan. Mentor and share knowledge with fellow engineers and technicians in order to develop their skillsets.
Develop technical workshops and provide on the job training to FSTD Support Staff.
