Leads the end-to-end game development lifecycle from the concept phase to the publishing of the game to reach the customer. Responsible for managing the entire game development project including concept development, budget development, managing the development operations as well as coordinating with the marketing department.
Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesManagerial Responsibilities:
- Take part in conducting job interviews for potential candidates by preparing and providing hiring reports, as well as consulting on the hiring decisions.
- Provide one-one feedback sessions to the development team to improve their performance.
- Support line manager in writing employees KPIs for the development team.
- Define corporate KPIs that relate to the game development core functions and provide them to management for review.
- Communicate with line manager about team’s performance, key issues, risks.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, including game designers, artists, programmers, and quality assurance.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Guide the development of the game scripts in alignment with the game concept and ideas and in collaboration with the game design team.
- Oversee the integration of design, art and programming pipelines as well as internal and outsourced pipelines in alignment with the overall project plan.
- Define metrics for overall project success to guide production teams in deriving own success metrics.
- Drive quality assurance by reviewing gameplay testing, beta testing and focus groups.
- Track production progress by reviewing project reports and internal documents.
- Manage the feedback from the sales and marketing teams as well as community and players to enhance the game play and functionality.
- Drive the overall profit and loss for the game by planning and executing the achievement of the game's monetisation potential.
- Manage the day-to-day functioning on the production floor, sprints, processes, and interactions.
- Facilitate and drive team communication and guide team culture to build a highly engaged team.
- Practice the role of scrum master, by following scrum methodology and best practices.
- Communicate and ensure alignment with external and internal stakeholders on project progress and milestones.
- Identify potential risks and challenges throughout the production process, developing and implementing strategies to mitigate them.
- Efficiently allocate resources, both human and technical, to optimize productivity and meet project goals.
- Bachelor's degree in game design, computer science, digital media , business administration, or equivalent is recommended. Work Experience
- 2+ years of experience in similar role.
- Intermediate level of experience producing or developing console, PC, and mobile games
- Excellent understanding of game genres, gaming industry, market trends, and emerging technologies.
- Strong project management skills and communication skills.
- Familiarity with various game development tools and software.
