Overview
We are looking for a skilled Oracle Golden Gate Specialist to join our team and work on advanced data replication and Change Data Capture (CDC) projects for a utility client. This role offers the opportunity to implement enterprise-grade data synchronization solutions that support real-time operations, business intelligence, and disaster recovery for critical infrastructure systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing high-availability data synchronization strategies and ensuring data consistency across heterogeneous database environments.
Responsibilities- Design and implement Oracle Golden Gate solutions for data replication and CDC across our client''s operational and analytical databases
- Configure and manage Golden Gate replication processes including Extract, Pump, and Replicat
- Set up bidirectional replication and active-active database configurations for high availability
- Implement data transformation and filtering logic using Golden Gate features
- Monitor replication lag and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in 24/7 operational systems
- Perform initial data loads and maintain data consistency across production, disaster recovery, and analytics environments
- Configure Golden Gate for heterogeneous database replication (Oracle to non-Oracle platforms)
- Implement disaster recovery and high availability solutions using Golden Gate to support business continuity requirements
- Create and maintain technical documentation for replication architectures
- Provide production support and resolve replication-related incidents with defined SLAs
- Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning of Golden Gate infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with client security standards and data governance policies
- Collaborate with database administrators, infrastructure teams, application owners, and client stakeholders
- Mentor junior team members and share knowledge within Innovation Team
- Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5-8 years of experience with Oracle Golden Gate (Classic and Microservices Architecture)
- Deep understanding of Oracle database architecture and internals (11g/12c/19c/21c)
- Strong knowledge of data replication concepts, CDC, and ETL processes
- Experience with conflict detection and resolution strategies
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and shell scripting
- Knowledge of Oracle database features (RAC, Data Guard, ASM)
- Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in high-pressure environments
- Ability to work in 24/7 production support environments with on-call responsibilities
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Fluency in English;
Arabic proficiency is highly preferred - Saudi national or valid Iqama holder
- Ability to obtain necessary security clearances for government projects
- Oracle Golden Gate certification
- Experience with Oracle Golden Gate for Big Data
- Knowledge of cloud-based replication (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Exadata)
- Familiarity with other replication technologies (Shareplex, SQL Server Replication)
- Experience with data warehousing and real-time analytics platforms
- Understanding of database security, encryption, and data masking
- Previous experience working with utilities, water sector, or critical infrastructure projects
- Experience working in consulting or IT services environments
- Project management or team leadership experience
- Knowledge of Saudi government IT standards and compliance requirements
