Senior Legal Counsel 1 – Alstom

Responsibilities- The Senior Legal Counsel/ Director will be the main point of contact for legal matters in relation to Alstom projects in Saudi Arabia and to all Alstom legal entities located in Saudi Arabia.
- You will be the main point of contact and represent Alstom vis‑à‑vis external stakeholders (government entities, administrative institutions, external law firms, partners and subcontractors).
- You will proactively support the business and support functions in day‑to‑day operations, including:
- Supporting the Business Development teams in drafting, reviewing and negotiating preliminary documents such as MoU, NDA, etc.
- Supporting the Bid team in reviewing tender documents and drafting related documents (commercial offers, clarification requests, project agreements, consortium agreements).
- Actively participating in defining claim management and dispute/settlement resolution strategy and implementing it with other functions.
- Supporting the Sourcing teams in drafting, reviewing and negotiating subcontract agreements.
- Ensure that the company’s interests are well protected and secured, and that any agreements are signed with an acceptable level of risk.
- Handle corporate matters.
- Provide legal and contractual training to commercial and business development teams.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in an international business environment and/or law firms.
- Proven experience as Legal Counsel in construction or industrial environment.
- Fully versed in sharia, Islamic law.
- Familiar with public tenders and procurement law.
- Fluent in English and Arabic.
- FIDIC knowledge would be a plus.
- Excellent leader who can interact with a variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Sound judgement and ability to analyze situations and information.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Law degree in Business (desirable LLM/LLB).
