Job Description

Summary:

The Materials Officer is responsible for overseeing the company's inventory management and ensuring the availability of materials for production or distribution purposes.

• Develop and implement inventory control procedures to monitor and maintain accurate levels of materials.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and reconcile any discrepancies in orders.
• Work closely with production and logistics teams to forecast material needs and prevent shortages.
• Evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance to optimize procurement processes.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, transactions, and other relevant data.

• Proven experience in inventory management or materials handling.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in using inventory management software and MS Excel.
• Good communication and negotiation skills to interact with suppliers and internal teams effectively.

• Strong knowledge of inventory management procedures and techniques.
• Proficiency in using computerized systems for tracking and managing materials.
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate records of stock levels.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and vendors to negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Good analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify inefficiencies and propose improvements in the materials management process.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders regarding material requirements and availability.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to materials handling and storage.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience with quality control processes to ensure the integrity of materials received and used in production.
• Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities and unforeseen issues in the materials supply chain.
