The Safety Officer – Factory/Plant role is based Sudair Plant in Riyadh and is responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible manufacturing workplace. The role supports implementation of the HSE Management System in line with local regulations and ISO standards, while conducting inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits across plant operations. Working closely with production teams, the position promotes safe work practices, delivers safety training, and drives a strong safety culture.
It also supports incident investigation, emergency preparedness, and continuous improvement of HSE performance.
- Ensure compliance with local HSE regulations, including Saudi Labor Law, Civil Defense, and GOSI requirements.
- Support implementation and day-to-day maintenance of the factory HSE Management System in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and site walkthroughs across production, welding, painting, assembly, and material handling areas.
- Maintain HSE documentation, permits to work, risk assessments, and statutory records.
- Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and basic risk assessments for manufacturing activities.
- Identify unsafe acts and conditions and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor proper use of PPE and safe material handling practices, including forklift and lifting operations.
- Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and basic safety training for employees and contractors.
- Promote safe work practices and support a positive safety culture on the shop floor.
- Assist in investigating accidents and near misses and prepare incident reports.
- Support implementation of corrective actions and maintain incident records and safety KPIs.
- Participate in emergency preparedness activities, including fire drills and coordination with Civil Defense.
- Monitor waste disposal, chemical handling, and environmental controls in line with company procedures.
- Support recycling and waste reduction initiatives within the facility.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Must have NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE certification.
- Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment; HVAC, metal fabrication, or similar industries preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and risk management practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HSE reporting/documentation systems.
- Strong observation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence behaviors and drive a strong safety culture on the shop floor.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive and hands-on approach.
- Strong communication, training, and coordination skills.
