VAT – Accounts Assistant

Position: VAT – Accounts Assistant (Permanent)
Recruitment Solutions (NW) are working with our Client in Bury – due to the acquisition of a new Group Company they are looking to appoint a VAT – Accounts Assistant.

THE ROLE OF THE VAT – ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

Will report to the Finance Controller – your role will be to prepare / submit and reconcile VAT returns. The role will combine general Accounts preparation and VAT Preparation and Submission.

* Preparing VAT Returns – collate Sales and Purchase Invoices to calculate VAT – experience of Xero / Sage or Quick Books will be needed

* Submitting Returns – digital Filing of VAT Returns

* Reconciling Accounts – on a regular basis across the VAT Control Accounts – matching Returns to Bank Statements

* Maintaining Records – to create and maintain a clear Audit Trail

* Query Management – from Clients / Suppliers and HMRC

* Assisting with Audits – preparing Files and Documents for annual Financial and Tax Audits

* General Accounts support – processing Invoices – Sales and Purchase Ledgers / Assisting with Payroll and supporting Month and Year End

The role of the VAT – Accounts Assistant role is for a character who is detail orientated – who is numeric and analytical and who is highly organized.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AS THE VAT – ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

* Annual Salary of c £27,000 – £30,000 – doe

* Annual performance related Bonus and Salary review

* Study Support for AAT or CIMA studies
