Machine Operator Night Shift
Location:
Rochester
Salary: £14 to £15 per hour
Shift Pattern:
Monday to Thursday, 6pm to 6am on a 4 on 4 off pattern
A growing food manufacturing business in Rochester is expanding its night shift operation and investing heavily in both people and equipment. This Machine Operator role sits above a Production Operative level and is ideal for someone looking to take on more responsibility, build technical skills and progress within a well structured and supportive environment.
You will be joining a business that values teamwork, continuous improvement and long term development. With clear progression routes and ongoing training, this role offers genuine opportunities to move into Senior Operator, Line Leader or technical positions over time.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Setting up and operating production machinery used for blending, filling, encapsulation or packaging
• Carrying out basic mechanical checks and adjustments to ensure smooth and efficient running
• Troubleshooting issues and acting as the first point of contact on the production line
• Ensuring all products meet high quality, food safety and GMP standards
• Completing accurate shift paperwork and production records
• Supporting colleagues to maintain strong production flow
• Keeping machinery and work areas clean, organised and safe

• Experience working with machinery in a manufacturing or production environment
• Comfortable setting up or adjusting machines, or keen to learn and develop these skills
• Confident taking responsibility and solving problems during shift

• Reliable, motivated and able to work well as part of a team
• Positive attitude towards progression and learning new skills
