Position: Production Shift Manager (Nights)

A leading food manufacturer is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Shift Manager to support high-performing production operations at their state-of-the-art facility in Rochester. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious manufacturing professional looking to step into a leadership role within a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.

  • This is a night shift role (4 on 4 off) based at their site in Kent
  • Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee shift performance to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
  • Plan, allocate, and manage manpower effectively across all production lines.
  • Coordinate with engineering and QA to minimise downtime and maintain product quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, waste reduction, and resource utilisation.
  • Manage materials returned to the warehouse and ensure correct documentation.
  • Reconcile raw materials, packaging, and finished goods at the end of each shift.
  • Work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to maintain high inventory accuracy.
  • Enforce food safety, GMP, HACCP, hygiene, and general safety standards.
  • Conduct routine safety checks and ensure timely corrective actions.
Candidate Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • At least 5 years' experience in a Food or Drinks manufacturing environment, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or shift management role.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft, SAP, Oracle or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in production reporting, team leadership, and manpower management.
  • Solid understanding of GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership capability.
