Hours

Monday – Friday 06:00am – 16:00pm, 50‑hour week

Salary & Pay

£12.60 per hour – £32,760 basic annually. Overtime at time and a half (£18.90). Night work bonus £45. Call‑out bonus: £30 on weekdays, £45 on weekends.

Principle Duties And Accountabilities

• Flexibility in approach to work and ability to undertake ad‑hoc duties when vehicle is off‑road or to assist other field teams

Roles And Responsibilities

• Drive and operate specialist jetting tankers (Super Suction Jetting Tankers, Combination Jetting Tankers) after training (Class 2, CPC required)
• Attend emergency call‑outs for sewer blockages, flooding and pollution
• Operate on private and public land in strict compliance with statutory health, safety and environmental procedures
• Perform vehicle checks at start and finish of each shift
• Document all jobs correctly
• Report defects, accidents and near‑misses immediately to Line Manager
• Maintain driver’s logbook in compliance with MOT rules and procedures
• Ensure PPE conditions are fit for purpose
• Keep vehicle and equipment clean, free of rubbish in hoses, toolboxes and cab
• Attend training as required

Health & Safety

Section 7 of the Health & Safety at Work Act (1974) states the general duties of employees at work to take reasonable care for their own and others’ health and safety, and to cooperate with the employer in fulfilling statutory duties.

Drainage Engineer (Combi) Health & Safety Responsibilities

• Understand and comply with the company health & safety policy
• Promote a positive health, safety culture and lead by example
• Carry out work activities safely and in accordance with legislative and company requirements and RAMS
• Complete all required site documentation
• Carry out VPRs and update DRAs for every job
• Report health, safety and environmental incidents to the Line Manager within 2 hours

Qualifications / Competency

• HGV Class 1/2 driving licence
• ADR licence (desired)
• Ability to work within controlled guidelines and environmental regulations
• Polite, friendly public interaction
• Minimal supervision, able to receive remote instructions
• Desirable: experience with liquid waste products in water utility / environmental services; knowledge of safe street work preferred
• NRSWA Unit 2 (desired)
• High Pressure Water Jetting (desired)
• Emergency First Aid (in‑house training provided)
• First Aid at Work (in‑house training provided)
• Manual Handling (in‑house training provided)
• Asbestos Awareness (UKATA)
• Standpipe Usage competence
