Salary up to £50,000 + 25 Days Holiday + Car Allowance + Pension

Blaymires Recruitment is representing a specialist façade contractor based near Romsey who is searching for an experienced construction materials Buyer to join the business.

The company undertakes a variety of façade projects that include rainscreen cladding, steel framing systems, external wall insulation, architectural metal work, and brick slip systems. They also specialise in remedial works and have an annual turnover of £15 million.

The successful candidate will have experience working within the construction sector and will have a thorough understanding of all aspects of the materials buying process.

The company will consider a Quantity Surveyor looking to move across into a buying role or an experienced construction Buyer.

Role & Responsibilities:

* Preplanning of materials before jobs commence.

* Sourcing and ordering of materials at best possible price

* Review plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure the correct equipment, material and subcontractor services are ordered and/or purchased

* Identifying potential suppliers and new products.

* Keeping detailed records and maintaining a well organised work schedule.

* Negotiation skills are necessary for agreeing prices and terms with suppliers.

* Good knowledge of materials within the Construction or Façade Sector.

* Good communication and organisational skills.

* IT literate with experience of using costing/ordering software.

* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role working within the Construction sector.
