Location:

South Central & London – ideally Portsmouth/Southampton area.

Remuneration: £50,000-£65,000 base + £30,000-£40,000 uncapped commission.

The role:

Specification Sales Manager for roofing and waterproofing systems, focusing on liquid roofing (waterproofing, insulation, roof lights, edge trims and VCL) and fully built‑up roofing solutions.

• Field sales role selling a range of liquid roofing systems.
• Majority of time gaining specifications with building surveyors, architects, health authorities, education institutions and other major specifiers.
• Occasional engagement with specialist quality waterproofing & roofing subcontractors to ensure projects are won and completed professionally.
• Target threshold for year one: ~£300,000; goal: ~£1.3 m.
• Maximise profit through proper management of pricing and discounts.
• Refurbishment focus – project sizes range from 200 m² to 4,000 m² (typical pricing £30‑£40 m² for waterproofing, £70‑£80 m² for fully built‑up roofing).
• Build and retain relationships with key specifiers while hunting for new projects.
• Deliver solutions rather than price‑only pitches, with an emphasis on upselling.
• Comfortable with heights.

• Specification field sales experience with building surveyors.
• Ability to write detailed specifications and conduct CPD seminars.
• Experience in related product backgrounds such as concrete repairs, flooring or existing roofing systems (not essential).
• Technical capability and understanding of liquid‑applied roofing, waterproofing, insulation, roof lights, edge trims and VCL (Vapour Control Layer).
• Existing customer contacts with building surveyors/architects preferred.
• Stable employment history: no more than 3 jobs in the last 6 years unless justified.
• Intelligence, empathy, drive and energy to sell solutions.
