We are looking to strengthen our quality department with the addition of a Quality Engineer. Supporting the Quality Manager, you will strive to achieve high-quality standards across all services and products. You will also be required to research and develop new methods of testing equipment and products in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.
About the RolePrimary responsible for the testing, developing, improving quality of the product and processes. Driving continuous improvement of the Haslingden site with an additional strong focus on, health and safety focus and product safety.
Supporting Compliance Manager to add in guiding the overall provision of QHSE services, policy's, programmes, procedures and standards for division and its compliance.
To ensure compliance to the relevant ISO's and BRCGS standards.
Key Responsibilities- Support in driving compliance with formal accreditations IOS's and BRCGS standards.
- Understanding and use of Control Plans and Inspection processes
- SPC (Statistical Process Control)
- Root Cause Analysis
- CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions), QMS (Quality Management Systems)
- Knowledge of quality control methods
- Conducting failure analysis on returned products
- Experience with RCA and 8D methodologies
- Data analysis for KPIs (dashboard and trend analysis)
- The focus will be on designing, implementing and improving existing quality controls such as test methods, applying engineering and analytical methodology to quality problems to assist in finding root cause
- The collection and analysis of data
- Machine capability studies and looking into machine improvements including automation
- Checking characteristics of a raw material, looking at machine improvements
- Everything that effects quality but also takes into consideration OEE.
- A good understanding of ISO's (phone number removed) and 9001) H&S, Environmental, Quality and BRCGS standards and accreditations
- Previous quality and process inspection role within a manufacturing organisation.
- The ability to identify areas for improvement and to communicate effectively with the necessary departments
- High attention to details to ensure proper manufacturing processes
- Ability to conduct root cause analyses and devise suitable preventive action plans.
- Sincere work ethic for adhering to standards and managing potential harmful effects on timelines and budget.
- Excellent interpersonal and team-player skills.
- Good mathematical skills and proficiency with computer software (MSO being advantageous)
Monday to Friday - 7am till 4pm - Standard 40-hour working week
Salary & Benefits- £35,000-£40,000 depending upon experience
