Optometrist

Key Duties

• Conduct thorough eye examinations to the highest clinical standards.
• Advise patients on their vision care needs, including prescribing glasses or contact lenses.
• Participate in and contribute to specialist clinics, such as Myopia Control.
• Support patients with general eye health concerns and refer when necessary.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Work closely with dispensing opticians and support staff to deliver a seamless patient experience.
• Ensure compliance with all GOC and NHS regulations and standards.

• Salary £35,000 – £50,000 depending on experience.
• 28 days annual leave including bank holidays.
• GOC fees paid.
• Structured support and ongoing training opportunities.
• Opportunity to work in specialist clinics, including Myopia Control.
• 30‑minute testing times to ensure quality care.
• Currently single testing, so confidence and independence are key.
• Plans in place for double testing in the near future.
• No sales targets; patient care is the priority.
• 2 pm finish on Saturdays, no Sundays, and all bank holidays off.
• Looking for 3‑4 days per week, but full‑time may be accommodated across multiple sites.

• GOC Registered.
• Experience preferred but open to confident newly qualified.
• Must hold full right to work in the UK.
