The TOpS Recruitment and Contracting Advisor will be responsible for ensuring that sufficient Markers are recruited to fulfil forecasted demands for the TOpS/National Curriculum Assessments. The post holder will also manage the deployment of our Markers and work within the wider recruitment team to ensure that sufficient Markers are contracted to meet target requirements across all areas of responsibility.
Key Accountabilities- Organise and manage recruitment campaigns for all Marker positions.
- Liaise with internal departments and key stakeholders on recruitment requirements, advising them on the best way to proceed and building successful working relationships.
- Provide advice to potential applicants on Marker roles.
- Work within the Recruitment and Contracting Team to anticipate demand for additional Markers in key subject areas.
- Coordinate with colleagues to ensure proficiency in Gateway and set up new roles when necessary.
- Monitor the number of applications received for priority subjects.
- Contribute to the Pearson Marker recruitment and retention strategy.
- Ensure positive customer service, resolving escalations and complaints promptly in accordance with Customer Service SLAs.
- Provide regular MI and ad‑hoc reports as requested.
- Take responsibility for a given area, managing and facilitating the contracting, deployment and allocation of Markers for each period of work, in line with forecast requirements and tight deadlines.
- Assess requirements and dispatch sufficient contracts to ensure full coverage by the target date, following up on non‑responses and topping up to cover Marker withdrawals.
- Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders, such as the STA, in each designated area of responsibility.
- Maintain accuracy and currency of information in Gateway, ensuring secure interface with interdependent systems.
- Deal with routine enquiries regarding applications and status by phone and email. Liaise with internal customers regarding Markers.
- Manage the end‑to‑end recruitment process for all vacancies, including support for new applicants and reference checks.
- Assist with additional or ad‑hoc contracting during busy times or to cover absences.
- Assist colleagues within the Deployment team with their workload during peak times.
- Maintain liaison with other business areas to achieve business objectives.
High volumes of application forms and references need to be dealt with efficiently and within specified times. Ensuring sufficient volumes of applicants to meet demand is essential.
Qualifications- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work effectively with limited supervision.
- Commitment to delivering objectives and KPIs.
- A can‑do attitude and the ability to adapt to an ever‑changing workplace.
- Intermediate MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook – Essential.
