Frontend Developer

Overview

At Freeday, we build digital employees that automate repetitive work, so people can spend their time on things that really matter. Our customer portal is growing fast and we’re ready for the next step. That’s why we’re looking for a Frontend Developer to help us push things forward. We need someone who sees the details others miss. Someone who can make an interface feel right.

Who can take a rough idea or a half-written ticket and turn it into something that works beautifully. You don’t need everything handed to you. You just need the space to do your thing and a team that loves building together.

You’ll focus mainly on our customer portal and occasionally support improvements to our webchat. The portal is growing quickly and there’s a lot happening, so your work will really matter. You’ll help take us from version 1 to version 2, and be part of a team that ships features in a smart, structured way.

• Build and improve clean, responsive and user-friendly components
• Spot design inconsistencies and suggest smart alternatives
• Think along with backend and product when priorities shift
• Create features that not only look good but make sense from a user perspective
• Bring structure and consistency into fast-moving projects

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys building and improving real products in a growing company. You don’t need to know everything already. But you do need to be curious, eager to learn and willing to ask questions. You’ll be encouraged to push back when things are unclear and bring your own ideas to the table.

We are a Rotterdam-based tech scale-up with big ambitions and a high-performing team. We prefer working together at the office, because good ideas rarely come from endless meetings but often start at the coffee machine or in front of a whiteboard.

• Has experience with modern frontend tools (we work with React and Type Script)
• Is comfortable working with incomplete specs and figuring things out
• Cares about the little details that make a big difference
• Enjoys working closely with design and improving the user experience together
• Is proactive, structured and likes to move things forward
• Feels at home in an informal and ambitious team
• Experience with UI design or a background in design is a big plus. We believe someone with that extra visual eye could really make an impact.
