As a Dev Ops Engineer at Soul Assembly, you'll play a key part in supporting our development teams by maintaining our build services infrastructure, enabling the smooth creation of innovative video games. We're looking for an enthusiastic problem-solver with a keen eye for reliability and efficiency, ready to assist our skilled teams in developing cutting‑edge titles using Unity and Unreal Engine. In this important role, you'll help deliver quick, reliable builds that allow our game developers to provide polished experiences to QA, reviewers, publishers, and stakeholders for testing, submissions, internal reviews, and more.

Working across multiple teams, you'll contribute to the studio's success by monitoring our infrastructure, tracking build performance, and offering clear insights into results, from single runs to broader patterns. You'll support the upkeep of our build hardware and software setup, ensuring it's current and scalable to handle growing needs. With opportunities to grow and contribute ideas, you'll help refine our systems to maintain high standards.

On the creative front, you'll draw on your software skills to develop useful tools, such as automated testing solutions, that enhance our game projects and improve daily workflows. Collaboration is central to our studio, and you'll work closely with development teams and colleagues across the organisation to gather insights on requirements, suggest improvements, and help outline plans for our Dev Ops practices.

We're seeking someone who enjoys technical challenges, communicates effectively, and brings energy to the team. In this position, you'll contribute to the infrastructure powering XR innovation, addressing the specific challenges of game development while exploring new possibilities in virtual reality. Your skills will help us as we innovate and expand.

Responsibilities
  • Be involved in defining studio processes and working practices.
  • We are seeking someone with the following experience:
  • Experience of CI/CD pipelines
  • Proficiency in Jenkins and/or Team City, or similar CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure Dev Ops Pipelines)
  • Strong Python skills
  • Bash scripting expertise
  • Solid Linux/Unix experience
  • macOS proficiency
  • Git usage via command line
  • Hands‑on experience with Docker creation and deployment of containers
  • Knowledge of Grafana and Prometheus
  • Expertise in monitoring and alerting
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills, with the ability to discuss requirements, suggest enhancements, and share plans with cross‑functional teams
Desired Skills
  • Unity development experience
  • Unreal Engine development experience
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Proficiency with Perforce
  • Skills in optimising build times for game projects
  • Familiarity with Jira or other ticketing systems
  • Experience with Confluence or similar collaboration tools
