Senior Planning Enforcement Officer
Salary: £36,363 - £40,777 per year (UK statutory minimum of £32,597 - £36,363 for full‑time equivalents)
Hours: Full time – 37 hours a week (part‑time options available)
Location: Rugby Borough Council, Rugby, Warwickshire, England
AboutThe Role
You will be a key member of the Council’s Development and Enforcement Team, delivering the Council’s vision for the Borough as a Senior Planning Enforcement Officer.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead on a range of planning enforcement matters across the urban town and the surrounding Green Belt and heritage areas.
- Investigate and assess planning complaints promptly in accordance with the Council’s Enforcement Policy.
- Explain every step of the planning and enforcement process to customers, placing customer service at the heart of everything you do.
- Work independently, resolving a range of problems in a customer‑focussed manner.
Qualifications and experience:
- Experience of planning enforcement work and knowledge of the planning system.
- Well‑organised, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
- Very good communication skills and the ability to resolve a range of problems in a customer‑focused manner.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car for business use.
- 35 days leave (including 8 bank holidays and 3 extra days normally applied at Christmas)
