Principal Planning Officer – Development Management

£48,160 – £51,295 (including market supplement of £3,069) – Full time, 37 hours a week

About the Role

Rugby is one of the fastest growing towns in the country and is set to grow by 30% by 2035. We need an exceptional and dynamic planner to lead our growth agenda. The role will involve:

  • Overseeing major development schemes, including two sustainable urban extensions, high‑quality employment and technology sites such as Ansty Park, and the regeneration of Rugby Town Centre.
  • Managing proposals for developments in the rolling Warwickshire countryside, green belt, and heritage sites.
  • Supervising, managing and appraising other team members.
  • Providing strategic advice and influencing decisions at all levels.
About You
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Significant experience of development management.
  • Excellent communication and advisory skills.
  • Hold a valid driving licence and have access to a car for business use.
