Global Claims Leader (F/H) – Arabelle Solutions

Roles & Responsibilities Claim Strategies and Leadership
  • Establish project‑specific claim strategies in collaboration with Project Managers (Commercial) and ensure adequate actions are implemented.
  • Lead a team of Claim Managers, directly or functionally reporting into this position.
  • Lead Claim Managers in setting up and updating Project/Subcontract Claim Procedures.
  • Collaborate with Planners/Schedulers to optimize project programs for potential claims.
  • Lead Claim Managers in claim‑related risk and opportunity identification, quantification, and mitigation.
Commercial Awareness and Tools
  • Own the company’s claim management process and required tools.
  • Actively increase commercial awareness within the company culture via tools, processes and training.
  • Identify claim management gaps and close them.
  • Implement an effective process of record creation, storage and access.
  • Provide tools and best practices in claim management to project teams.
Claim Management
  • Achieve the company’s claim management objectives related to schedule delay, productivity, labor and material cost escalation, design issues, and contract interpretations.
  • Manage claims across multiple regions and jurisdictions in partnership with specialist functions such as legal, planning, insurance, tax, finance, etc.
  • Prepare, negotiate and settle claims against customers, consortium partners, insurers, subcontractors and suppliers as well as defend claims against us.
  • Establish and run claim‑specific action plans.
  • Lead external law firms and consultants in claim preparations when required.
  • Consider contractual terms, contract pricing, rates, productivity levels; inspect records, notices, actual time, costs, productivity, escalation costs and other relevant factors.
  • Prepare a cause‑and‑effect detailed analysis and critical path using accepted scheduling techniques.
  • Identify contractual remedies for cost and time recovery and compare baseline schedules against executed schedule to assess accuracy, delay impact and allocate responsibility.
  • Collaborate with planners to prepare delay analyses using recognized methodologies.
  • Collaborate with financial controllers to substantiate cost assessments for claims.
  • Prepare reports, correspondences and present claim analysis, findings, and develop claims resolution strategies for use in negotiations.
  • Participate in contract commercial closeout and settlement negotiation meetings.
  • Ensure regular project and commercial meetings with customers, partners and vendors to review progress and settle claims.
  • Draft and negotiate settlement agreements and change orders.
  • Collaborate and support the legal team in potential arbitration or litigation proceedings related to claims.
  • Prepare early case assessments with external expert support for matters entering dispute resolution proceedings.
Reporting
  • Ensure claim filing systems and claim registers are established and maintained.
  • Lead Claim Review Boards for senior executives on major claims according to company policies.
  • Report claim progress, settlement estimates and outcomes to senior leadership.
Return On Experience And Trainings
  • Provide training to project teams and relevant functions on claims management, procedures, tools and risks.
  • Own the continued development of the company’s claim management expertise by capturing return on experience and implementing lessons learned.
