  • Location: Uppingham, Rutland
  • Salary: From £35,360 dependent on experience
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days per week – time allocated for admin, potential to do admin remote from home; weekends 1 in 5 Saturday mornings
About

The Role

We are looking for a Lead Nurse to join our Rutland veterinary centre. The Lead Nurse works alongside the clinical team to develop the practice, providing high clinical standards and effective patient management. The role requires an excellent communicator, highly organised, and comfortable working autonomously in a busy practice.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate an excellent work protocol in all nursing duties while taking overall responsibility for a specific area of the practice.

• Organise and oversee patient flow on a day‑to‑day basis to ensure the most effective and efficient approach to the workload.

• Identify and improve the efficiency of the patient pathway from admission through to discharge while ensuring that practice and group policies are adhered to, supporting outstanding patient and client care.

• Work closely with the Clinical Nurse Manager, identifying training development needs within the nursing team and ensuring the team is managed effectively.

Qualifications
  • RVN with at least 2 years post‑qualification experience.
  • Leadership experience and a relevant certificate.
  • Excellent communicator, highly organised, and comfortable working autonomously.
