Salary: £2,300.24 - £4,600.49 per annum
Location: Uppingham School
Job PurposeTo lead a team of Domestic Cleaners, ensuring high standards of cleanliness for pupils and central buildings, and performing domestic duties such as meal service and laundry.
Responsibilities- Provide a welcoming environment for parents, contractors, conference delegates, and other visitors.
- Work independently to complete daily/weekly tasks assigned by the line manager to a high standard.
- Assist with reassignments and rotate through different areas as needed.
- Perform washing, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, sweeping, and deep cleaning of carpets, furnishings, fixtures, windows, walls, and storage areas.
- Notify line manager of need for replacement materials and equipment.
- Comply fully with Health & Safety, Hygiene, Infection Control guidelines, COSHH, and school policies.
- Wear and maintain issued uniform.
- Attend professional training as required.
- Hand in any lost property promptly.
- Assist with laundry operations as required.
- Complete other duties within the scope of the post.
- Work at house functions (minimum 8 evening events per year), clear tables and serve meals in the dining room, respond to urgent cleaning requests, wash and iron pupils' clothes and bedding, and clean kitchenettes.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures.
- Reasonable numeracy and literacy.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and collaborate with others.
- Good communication skills.
- Organise workload and balance priorities to meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of work.
- Good timekeeping.
- Ability to deal with colleagues, pupils and parents in a pleasant manner.
- Knowledge of health & safety requirements (desirable).
- Understanding of COSHH (desirable).
- Previous experience with industrial cleaning equipment (desirable).
