Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
As a Fired Heater Integrity Engineer supporting Canada’s largest oil refinery, you will help to oversee and manage our combustion equipment on a day-to-day basis.
You will work with cross-functional teams to avoid equipment failures and ensure that these assets are obtaining optimum life and performance. When routine and preventative maintenance is required, you will help define the scope of work for these updates/improvements. This role will also assist in outlining our predictive maintenance, repair and replacement plans to ensure the long-term success of our assets.
This position reports to the Fired Heater Integrity Group Lead and works within a small team dedicated to the lifecycle management of combustion equipment.

Your Responsibilities:
Provide support in Turnaround – mainly in execution and planning phase
Provide general process safety program support such as Process Hazard Analysis
Investigate Fired Equipment Abnormalities
Perform data analysis of Turnaround inspection results
Perform remaining tube life calculations
Support capital project work involving fired equipment
Prepare/support Engineering Work Orders pertaining to fired heaters
Prepare inspection reports pertaining to Fired Equipment
Provide support in updating instructions/ standards pertaining to Fired Equipment
Conduct incident reviews pertaining to fired equipment
Perform periodic Infrared (IR) Thermography Inspections of fired equipment
Provide support to team members’ reporting and IR analysis
Perform inspections (internal/ external) of fired equipment
Perform refractory inspection
Support burner PM program
Prepare quarterly update for management

Your
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering
2+ years of experience in a similar role
Knowledge of combustion equipment is an asset
Knowledge of maintenance engineering process is an asset
Proficient with MS Office:
Word, PowerPoint, Excel
PEng designation is a definite asset
