Location: St. Louis
Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Principal or Senior Principal Engineer to work in our Transportation business unit. The position requires 8-15 years of experience for a Principal Engineer and 15+ years of experience for a Senior Principal Engineer.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:- Lead engineering teams, support project manager, and/or be design lead on projects
- Be responsible for specific, high-responsibility-level tasks on project teams
- Resolve engineering problems and tasks as they are assigned
- Mentor & train engineers on the team
- Perform transportation engineering analyses and calculations
- Work as part of a team to complete general transportation engineering services for municipal, county, and state agencies
- Assist in the preparation of reports and feasibility studies
- Develop engineering plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E)
- Lead quality control reviews
- Licensed Professional Engineer (preferred)
- Experience with MoDOT, IDOT, UDOT or ArDOT (preferred)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Proficient in the use of Micro Station and Open Roads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must complete a background check
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
SALARY RANGE:Horner & Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The target salary range for this position is $105,000- $135,000 for a Principal Engineer and $115,000-$160,000 for a Senior Principal Engineer. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location.
