Controller, Accounting, Financial Compliance

For our client, we are seeking a Controller to join the team of a leader in the Staffing space.

This role will own the full accounting function for a growing, venture-backed business and ensure the integrity, timeliness, and accuracy of financial reporting. The Controller will partner closely with FP&A and external auditors while building scalable processes, controls, and systems to support continued growth. This is a hands‑on leadership position with broad responsibility across close, reporting, compliance, and operational accounting.

Compensation: $130,000 – $150,000 annually

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for timely financial reporting
• Direct and scale the accounting function through effective team management and development
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger
• Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and other accounting guidance
• Prepare GAAP‑compliant financial statements and management reports
• Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors
• Establish and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Forecast cash flow and manage banking relationships
• Collaborate with FP&A on budgeting and variance analysis
• Supervise tax compliance and filings
• Lead the accounting team, fostering growth and best practices
• Evaluate and implement accounting systems for improved efficiency

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3 years in leadership roles
• Experience in venture‑backed SaaS companies, preferably Series A to C
• CPA certification required;
  Big 4 or national firm experience favored
• In‑depth knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition
• Proven experience with external audits and internal control implementation
• Proficient in accounting systems (Net Suite, Salesforce, Ramp) and Excel
• Excellent communication skills for presenting financial data to non‑finance audiences
