Senior Electric Power Infrastructure Analyst

Tharros is seeking an accomplished Senior Electric Power Infrastructure Analyst to lead technical analysis of electric power infrastructure, dependencies, vulnerabilities, resilience, and risk to mission execution. The Senior Electric Power Infrastructure Analyst will assess generation, transmission, distribution, utility service, facility electrical systems, substations, backup generation, uninterruptible power supplies, fuel dependencies, protective systems, control systems, and restoration considerations affecting Department of Defense and civilian-owned defense critical infrastructure.

The position will provide senior electric-power expertise for infrastructure assessments in and outside the continental United States and will integrate electrical findings with telecommunications, operational technology, facilities, and mission‑dependency analysis. The successful candidate will validate source data, identify vulnerabilities and single points of failure, document assumptions and limitations, evaluate potential mission consequences, and produce traceable technical findings, risk statements, assessment reports, and decision‑support products for Government stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Lead electric power infrastructure analysis for mission assurance and defense critical infrastructure assessments.
• Assess power generation, transmission, distribution, facility‑level supply, backup power, control‑system dependencies, vulnerabilities, and potential mission impacts.
• Plan and support on‑site collection of electric power infrastructure data at CONUS and OCONUS locations.
• Analyze dependencies among electric power, telecommunications, operational technology, facilities, and supported mission functions.
• Validate electrical infrastructure data and document findings, assumptions, limitations, risks, and follow‑up requirements.
• Coordinate with mission analysts, other infrastructure‑sector analysts, engineers, operational technology specialists, and Government stakeholders.
• Prepare technical reports, assessments of inputs, briefings, risk statements, and decision‑support products.
• Support prioritization of electric power vulnerabilities and risk‑reduction actions based on mission consequences and infrastructure dependencies.
• Review electric power analytical products for technical accuracy, traceability, security, and consistency.
• Support integration of electric power findings into mission assurance decision‑support activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s level degree in any engineering discipline.
• Ten (10) years of experience with electric power, including experience in at least two of the following areas:
• Operation of electric power assets and systems
• Engineering, design, and planning of transmission and distribution assets and systems
• Electric power resource planning and analysis
• Power generation planning and analysis
• Power flow simulation including experience in Power World software or related software
• Use of Geospatial Information System (GIS) software in analysis efforts
• Experience working with the Navy and especially with Naval Warfare Centers.
• Military Operational experience with Mission Assurance.
• Occasional travel may be required to field sites for a 1-2 week period of time.
• Most travel would be in the United States, with potential travel outside the United States.
