What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of shelter common areas, entry points, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to the location, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and maintain professional interactions with individuals entering or leaving the property.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, trauma-informed, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and emergency responders when needed.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
