Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with strong orthopedic and robotics experience for a teaching hospital setting requiring a CA RN license and BSN.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BSN required
• AHA BLS certification required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient OR experience required
• Circulating and scrubbing experience required
• Strong orthopedic background required, including total joint replacement, scrub orthopedic and arthroscopic surgeries, and spinal fusion
• Preferred ortho/spine skills include ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, closed and open reduction of fractures, and laminectomy/discectomy
• Robotics experience required, DaVinci preferred
• Urology experience required
• General surgery experience including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and laparoscopic assisted procedures
• Endoscopic procedure experience including bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, and EGD
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Prior travel assignment experience within the last 12 months required
• Two professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit at a teaching hospital
• Day shift, 5x8 hours with variable start times between 6:45 AM and 9:00 AM, Monday through Friday
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Requires Epic charting system experience
• Ability to float to other facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed
• General OR work setting utilizing Hana Table equipment
• Perform circulating and scrubbing duties for orthopedic, urology, robotics, and general surgery cases
• Complete non-billable training modules during pre-start and annually, with transcripts recorded via the UC Learning website
• Proof of COVID vaccination and booster required, with no exceptions
• Any previous employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
• All requested time off must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer, with no time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as traveling candidates
