GaN Power Applications Engineer

One full-time opening; daily on-site work at 1798 Technology Dr, Suite 236, San Jose, CA.

• Evaluate prototype GaN devices in power-conversion circuits;
• develop gate-drive circuits, switching test fixtures and evaluation boards;
• simulate and measure switching behavior, losses, efficiency, thermal performance and electromagnetic interference;
• perform safe high-voltage testing and analyze application-level trade-offs;
• translate results into device-design feedback and technical application notes;
• collaborate with device, process and reliability engineers.

Knowledge of power electronics, switching converters and circuit analysis; practical measurement, troubleshooting and technical communication skills. Familiarity with gate drivers, PCB layout, SPICE, oscilloscopes or wide-bandgap devices is preferred. Relevant study, research or practical experience in electrical engineering, power electronics, physics or a related field. Master's or PhD preferred. No minimum years of work experience required. Chinese proficiency is not required.

Initial gross base pay US $6,400 per month. After three months, compensation may be adjusted to US $100,000 per year based on evaluation; this adjustment is not automatic or guaranteed. Applicable overtime will be paid as required by law.
